Luke “Beano” Watkins is a competition and award winning DJ and MC based in Herefordshire, UK.

A Hereford lad born and bred, Luke was first introduced to UK/Happy Hardcore in 2004. Before he knew it he was hooked on the fresh and euphoric sound of that era.

In 2005, at the age of 15, Luke learned to DJ on his friends Technics 1200 MK2s. It wasn’t long before he had gotten to grips with beat matching and the art of DJ’ing.

After about a year he started playing gigs, private parties and literally anywhere he could. He loved the scene and would do almost anything for the chance to share his passion.

Luke went on to play at the well-known “Spunky” events which were held in a local nightclub in his home town of Hereford. He had many good nights there behind the decks and even won the “Golden Glow Stick Awards” on the mic during his short stint as an MC.

In 2009 he had a break from his active involvement in the local Hardcore scene but still continued to listen to the music he loved on a day to day basis.

In 2015 Luke decided to return to DJ’ing. He bought a pair of CDJs and set about re-adjusting his skill towards digital DJ’ing and by 2016 he had secured a booking at a Clubland X-Treme event in his hometown.

In 2017 Luke caught the eye of the duo Technical Difficulties with his energy and style of mixing and was eventually invited to play in the “Core Unity NUbreed Takeover”.

In 2018, with his confidence booming, he started to enter competitions coming first in the Core Unity Nubreed DJ Comp and runner up in the Rave Logic DJ Comp. Luke also got his first New Year’s Eve booking at “I Love Happy Hardcore & One Big Bash”.

In 2019 Luke went international playing for One Big Bash at Unity In The Sun where he had the honour of working with the legendary MC Whizzkid. Luke also did his second booking for Clubland at the Stadium Music Festival held at Hereford Football Ground.

Since then, Luke has had an independent release as well as two official releases with TiOS. In 2021 he also had a DJ feature on the "Our Sound" album released by TiOS.

Luke continues to DJ for the masses as well as running his own event called “Sound Intentionz” while being an integral part of the TiOS Events management team.
